The project comprised of the enabling works as part of the development of a new education hub within the grounds of the University College Cork. The main elements of the works included extensive demolition and alteration works to the existing structures of the Windle building. The site was located in an extremely busy part of the campus heavily used by both pedestrians and vehicular traffic. As Griffin Brothers acted as P.S.C.S all movement of site related traffic was carefully supervised and managed. Construction vehicular access was only permitted when the UCC campus was closed which was between 23:00 and 07:00. The Windle Building is a protected structure and Griffin Brothers at all times provided adequate protection to avoid any damage to adjacent structures including the protected structure as well as measures to protect student, staff and members of the public on adjacent pubic routes
