Fitzgeralds Stadium us the heartland of Gaelic football in Co. Kerry.  Previous to the new extension works it could cater for 39,000 spectators.

The new extension 5,000m2 of terrace would increase capacity to 43,000 spectators.  The development of the stadium is a highly prestigious project.  The structure is a three storey reinforced concrete building with a sloping roof that provides that provides the new terrace area.

Level 1 contains medic facilities, shops, match official rooms, physio rooms, cryotherapy pool, dressing rooms and toilets to cater for 20,000 people.

Level 2 contained multiple general purpose training rooms, open plan offices, toilet facilities, canteen and gym.

Level 3 contained match analysis room and a large press/media room

Curtain walling and glazing also featured in the project along with a substantial amount of fair faced concrete.  The project was completed in a very tight program and on budget.

Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre is adjacent to the greater Tralee Bay which is a special area of conservation (S.A.C) and is designated Natura 2000 site.

Tralee Bay Wetlands project is a large leisure facility with extensive water features, walkways, visitors centre, 18m high viewing tower, train platform, boardwalks, dipping ponds, jetty, permanent roadways with car/bus parking, and 15,000m 2 manmade lakes over a 22 acres of coastal wetlands in Tralee.

Griffin Brothers developed a specific health, safety and environmental plan prior to commencement of works due to status and the area being a special area of conservation.  The project was completed on program and on budget.

Tralee Cinema is an eight screen multi-storey Omniplex situated in Tralee Town.  The cinema provides a vital local amenity for the town and surrounding district.

Griffin Brothers were awarded the contract to build the eight screen cinema over a 4,000m2 area and pracially 3 storeys in height.  The substructure of the building has to be comprehensively designed to include for over 200 piles and deep excavations due to its location within the Tralee Bay area (silt/sand).

The construction also incorporated a large groundworks package incorporating over 5,500m2 car parking and realignment of the Dan Spring Road to create a new entrance lane.  Griffin Brothers completed the design of a traffic management plan and the construction works with minimal disruption to the urban community.

The Haven Hostel is a long established family owned and family run hostel situated in the center of Killarney town.

It receives numerous hospitality awards both domestic and internationally annually.  The project involved the restoration of a three storey stone building and construction of a new build structure comprising in total of 645m2.

The building consisted of 21 en-suite bedrooms, from single rooms to 8 bed dorm rooms, common room, guest lounge, dining room, kitchen and store rooms.  Construction works were carried out adjacent to the live hostel.

Access to the site was restricted and a detailed traffic management plan was put in place.  All deliveries were scheduled at opportune times and guided into site with the aid of trained spotters.

The Haven received an award as the best commercial building 2015 at the prestigious brick awards in London

Kerry County Museum is based in the Ashe Memorial Hall in the centre of Tralee.  The aim of the museum is to collect, record, preserve and display the material heritage of Co. Kerry.  It is a designated repository for archaeological artefacts in co. Kerry.  On the lower ground floor of the Ashe Memorial Hall is a recreated medieval town with the sights, sounds and smells.  The project involved large scale construction works to the interior of the building over an area of 1,750m2.  The project is adjacent Tralee Town Park and Tralee’s main street (Denny Street), the works were carried out in an extremely busy public area.

Tralee Sports and Leisure Centre is a state of the art leisure centre just walking distance from Tralee Town Centre.

The centre currently attracts over 350,000 visits each year and offers facilities such as handball, racquetball, squash courts, saunas, tennis courts, jogging track, football pitches and a 25m x 9m swimming pool.

Griffin Brothers contract was to construct a new teaching pool 12m x 7.5m to the adjoining pool and the construction of a new fitness centre within the existing complex.  All works were executed while the complex was in full operation.

The Dingle Harbour Lodge is located within walking distance of Dingle Town and adjacent to Dingle Yacht Marina.

It is a 29 bedroom lodge over 2 floors including reception areas, kitchen, dining areas and communal areas.  The 2 storey structure is of traditional build with strip foundation, blockwork walls with precast concrete floors.

The building is set into a sloped site, at substructure stage this required bulk excavations and wall retaining systems.

Killarney Cineplex is a 5 screen cinema in the heart of Killarney Town.

Griffin Brothers contract was to demolish the existing cinema and build a new stand-alone cinema.  The substructure was a waterproof reinforced concrete with the cinema screen floor being 1.5m below ground level and floors poured to a 20° slope.  The superstructure was R.C. column and beams with insitu floors and cavity block construction.

Due to the extremely busy urban location a comprehensive site management plan was enforced and maintained to ensure all businesses adjacent the site remained in operation throughout the works.

The project consisted of the total refurbishment of the existing bedroom wing of the hotel over 3 floors. The construction works proved to be difficult logistically due to the high terrain and steep inclines where the hotel bedroom block is situated.

Griffin Brothers were responsible for the co-ordination of the project including mechanical and electrical services, other works included were roof repair works to the existing hotel, restoration of the library, car park extension and completion of landscaping package.

The project was completed over the winter months and was complete and operational for the upcoming tourist season.
